Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of major rail and infrastructure projects from concept to completion. Based in Blantyre, Scotland, the role offers autonomy within a strong commercial team and exposure to major civil engineering schemes.

The successful candidate will manage costs, provide CVRs and forecasts, handle subcontracting and procurement, and oversee final accounts with a proactive, commercially driven approach.

Qualifications

• Relevant commercial/QS qualification.
• Experience with CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Good knowledge of NEC and other forms of contract.
• Experience managing projects with limited supervision.
• Strong subcontract and supply chain management experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive and commercially driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs and overall commercial performance.
• CVR preparation, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Managing contractual obligations and commercial risk.
• Procurement and subcontract management.
• Managing change, variations and final accounts.
• Identifying commercial opportunities and best-value solutions.
• Building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
• Providing commercial support and guidance to the wider project team.
