Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the infrastructure team working on the London Power Tunnels project. You will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of a work package, ensuring cost control and NEC contract compliance.

The role involves close collaboration with project managers, procurement and subcontractors to maximise profitability and deliver final accounts and CVRs on time.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Experience in civil engineering, utilities, power, rail, highways, water or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractor packages and cost reporting.
• Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of assigned work packages.
• Prepare, submit and agree interim valuations and applications for payment.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, budgets and cash flow.
• Administer subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account settlement.
• Prepare and manage compensation events, variations and change control processes.
• Produce monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reports.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements.
• Work closely with Operational and Project Management teams to maximise project profitability.
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Assist with financial reporting and commercial performance reviews.
