Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for major UK infrastructure work, initially in Chesterfield before moving to the High Marnham site. You will lead commercial activities across work packages, manage subcontractor performance, and support budget development within the Great Grid Partnership for National Grid.

You will bring a degree in Quantity Surveying, ideally with RICS membership, and a track record in power or energy projects.

Qualifications

• Experience managing live subcontract packages under NEC contracts.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying; RICS membership desirable but not essential.
• Experience on power, energy or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and quantity surveying duties across work packages.
• Measure, value, and agree works; prepare interim applications and certificates.
• Draft, manage, and close out subcontracts and change control processes.
• Monitor live subcontract packages for commercial performance and payments.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and commercial forecasts.
• Prepare, manage and negotiate claims and final accounts.
• Advise project teams on contractual obligations and risks.
• Produce contract reviews and management reports; support budget establishment.
• Mentor junior commercial team members and build client relationships.
