Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major infrastructure and power projects based in Carlisle, with Birmingham as the office base. You will join a team delivering National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, a long-term supply chain framework for essential power infrastructure extending beyond 2030.

You will manage all commercial duties, measure and value works, handle interim payments, subcontracts and change control, while providing cost forecasting and risk

Qualifications

• Experience managing live subcontract packages under NEC contracts.
• Experience on power, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial duties across allocated work packages.
• Measure, value and agree works.
• Prepare interim payments and payment certifications.
• Draft, manage and close out subcontracts.
• Manage live subcontract packages, including commercial performance, change, valuations, payments and contractual obligations.
• Monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
• Prepare, manage and negotiate claims and final accounts.
• Identify, price and manage change control processes.
• Advise project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks and opportunities.
• Produce contract reviews, BPR information and management reports.
• Support project budget establishment from contract award stage.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members.
