Job summary

Linear Recruitment is assisting a leading UK infrastructure contractor for a Senior Quantity Surveyor role on a major highways scheme. You will oversee subcontract packages, control costs and support effective contract management to drive delivery and value on a multi-year program.

We seek a commercially focused QS with construction/infrastructure experience, strong contract knowledge, and skills in cost reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial role within construction or infrastructure.
• Understanding of standard forms of contract and procedures.
• Experience managing subcontract packages, applications, variations and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of project cost management and construction processes.
• Excellent IT skills, esp. Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with CEMAR and Oracle systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management.
• CSCS card held at least, with MRICS/MCIOB advantageous.
• Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and negotiate subcontract documentation (terms, pricing, programmes).
• Manage subcontract packages, interim assessments and change control.
• Prepare and issue contractual notices to client and subs.
• Manage variations and compensation event quotations per contract.
• Prepare, submit and agree monthly payment applications.
• Liaise with site and engineering teams for accurate commercial records.
• Produce monthly commercial reports and CVRs.
• Maintain cost plans and forecast final costs.
• Support safe working practices on the project.
