Job summary

Brandon James Limited is assisting a London-based main contractor in appointing an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on multiple projects from procurement through to final account. The ideal candidate will have extensive main contracting experience, strong skills in procurement, valuations, variations, final accounts and client, consultant and subcontractor liaison.

A senior QS with robust commercial and contractual knowledge is required for this role in East

Qualifications

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Main contracting experience is essential
• Strong experience managing subcontract packages
• Good knowledge of procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding
• Experience across residential, refurbishment, commercial, education, healthcare or similar projects
• Confident dealing with clients, subcontractors and project teams
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline preferred
• JCT experience would be advantageous

• Managing the commercial performance of projects
• Procurement and tendering of subcontract packages
• Managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
• Preparing and agreeing variations
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• CVRs and monthly commercial reporting
• Managing project budgets and cost control
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts
• Working closely with site and project management teams
• Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
