Job summary

Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are working with an established main contractor seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London commercial team.

Based in Central London, the role offers a competitive salary (£95,000-£110,000 per year), permanent, full-time employment and long-term career progression, with exposure to substantial residential projects and opportunities to mentor junior commercial staff.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience.
• Strong background in residential developments and mixed-use projects.
• Experience managing large subcontract packages and understanding JCT contracts.
• Relevant QS qualification preferred.

• Lead commercial management of residential projects from procurement through to final account.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, valuations and payments.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Residential Main Contractor

Location: Central London

Salary: £95,000-£110,000 per annum

Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are working with an established main contractor seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial management of residential construction projects from procurement through to final account.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, valuations and payments.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
• Manage variations, contractual correspondence and commercial risk.
• Work closely with project managers and site teams to protect project profitability.
• Mentor junior commercial staff where required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor.
• Strong background in residential developments, apartments or mixed-use construction.
• Experience managing substantial subcontract packages.
• Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial procedures.
• Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification preferred.
