Job summary

WJ UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own the commercial account on Sizewell C, Suffolk. You will manage NEC3/4 contract administration and own cost, value, margin and cash for a £20M+ portfolio, reporting to the Managing QS and SZC Project Lead.

Based on site with regular travel to WJ head office in Kings Langley; the role offers £65,000–£75,000 basic plus benefits including private healthcare, company car, gym, and a performance bonus; opportunity to develop into Managing QS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (mandatory).
• 5–8 years' quantity surveying experience in construction, civil engineering, geotechnical or specialist subcontracting, with a proven track record on major infrastructure programmes.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification NEC3/4 contract administration (Options A/B/C/E) and at least 3 years at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance for SZC site (e.g. BPSS/SC).
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel routinely to a major infrastructure site.

Responsibilities

• Run NEC3/4 contract administration (Options A, C and E) across the SZC packages, handling early warnings, compensation events, quotations and re-measures within time bars.
• Own cost, value, margin and cash for a £20M+ portfolio: CVRs, cashflow forecasts, monthly applications and follow-on negotiations.
• Act as the lead commercial point of accountability for WJ’s SZC accounts from award to final account.
• Lead the administration of SZC packages under NEC3/4 and project-specific nuclear framework requirements.
• Prepare, own and maintain live cost plans, CVRs and cashflow forecasts aligned to SZC reporting cycles.
• Own change management across SZC accounts, ensuring changes are identified, priced, agreed and recorded.
• Build and lead an expanded SZC commercial team as the opportunity pipeline grows.
• Act as the lead commercial interface with SZC Ltd, CWA, stakeholders and subcontractors.
