Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is mandatory.
• 5–8 years' QS experience in construction, civil engineering, geotechnical or specialist subcontracting.
• Experience on major infrastructure programmes.
• At least 5 years' post-qualification experience administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience across NEC Options A–E.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Strong commercial negotiation and client-facing skills.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure £65,000-£75,000 + Company Car + Private Healthcare + Gym + Performance Bonus + Accom costs

An established specialist contractor is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team supporting works at Sizewell C.

This is a senior commercial role with genuine progression. From day one, you will deputise for the Managing Quantity Surveyor on the account, with a clear route towards Managing QS level as the project and team develop. The role would particularly suit someone from major infrastructure, civil engineering, geotechnical or specialist subcontracting who has strong NEC experience and is comfortable operating with clients, principal contractors and alliance partners.

The Role

You will take commercial responsibility across a major infrastructure contract, including:

• Administration of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
• Commercial management and cost control
• Applications, valuations and variations
• Compensation events and change management
• Forecasting, reporting and financial performance
• Contractual correspondence and record keeping
• Commercial negotiation with clients and contractors
• Supporting and deputising for the Managing Quantity Surveyor
• Working closely with operational and project teams
• Regular attendance at a major infrastructure site

Essential Experience

Applicants must have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-8 years' Quantity Surveying experience within construction, civil engineering, geotechnical or specialist subcontracting
• Experience working on major infrastructure programmes
• At least 5 years' post-qualification experience administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts
• Experience across NEC Options A, B, C and/or E
• Strong commercial negotiation and client-facing skills
• Strong financial reporting and analytical capability
• Excellent record keeping and contractual awareness
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Desirable Experience

Particularly useful experience would include:

• Nuclear new-build or other major infrastructure programmes such as HS2, major rail, utilities or tunnelling projects
• JCT and bespoke contract frameworks
• CEMAR, Oracle Unifier or FastDraft
• RICS or ICES membership, or working towards chartership
• CSCS and appropriate site safety training
