Job summary

YTL Construction UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive commercial leadership on a major capital investment programme across multiple sites in the Wessex Water region, including Bristol, Bath, Yeovil, Poole and Taunton.

You will oversee pre- and post-contract activities up to £40m, manage payment processes, CVRs, and reporting, and mentor site-based QS teams while collaborating with Project Managers, Planners and Engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in quantity surveying or a similar qualification.
• Experience with change and risk management, tender and final account negotiation.
• Strong leadership and ability to build professional relationships.
• Experience managing commercial teams and subcontractor relationships.
• Dispute resolution, cost analysis and project correspondence.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the contract payment process across several projects and forecast costs.
• Prepare subcontractor tender documentation and detailed scopes of work.
• Engage and assess supply chain partners for capability and delivery.
• Lead tender analysis, interviews and reporting.
• Develop project risk registers and explore value engineering opportunities.
• Meet financial deadlines and prepare CVRs and commercial reports.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, Designers, Engineers and Estimators.
• Lead and mentor project-based Quantity Surveyors, Assistants and trainees.
• Promote robust commercial processes and a positive team culture.
