Job summary

Northern Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading infrastructure business to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for major North West projects. You will provide commercial leadership across the project lifecycle, manage costs, contracts, and procurement, and work closely with construction managers and stakeholders to protect commercial performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Civils/Utilities/Infrastructure, NEC contract experience, and strong cost control and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience.
• Background in Civils/ Utilities/ Infrastructure.
• Strong experience with NEC contracts.
• Subcontract management and commercial management experience.
• Strong cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Experience managing change and contractual matters.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using accounting systems such as Oracle.
• Good understanding of CDM and health & safety requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of projects and work packages.
• Supporting project forecasting, budgeting and cost control.
• Preparing and maintaining CVRs and commercial reports.
• Managing subcontractors, valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Managing variations, change and contractual events.
• Supporting procurement and subcontract negotiations.
• Monitoring costs, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes and procedures.
• Working closely with operational and SHEQ teams.
• Building relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Escalating commercial issues when required.
• Supporting development of commercially sustainable project pipelines.
