Job summary

FM Conway is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Major Projects Division. You will join the commercial team at our Sevenoaks head office, driving risk/value management, cost control and procurement strategy across major projects.

You will lead the commercial team, oversee contracts (JCT/ICE/NEC) and ensure compliance while supporting professional development and growth within a dynamic transportation-focused portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, civil engineering or highways sectors.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent required.
• Excellent knowledge of JCT, ICE and NEC contracts; CSCS card essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk, value management and cost control activities to benefit the contract.
• Lead procurement strategy including cost value analysis and sub-contractor procurement.
• Maintain awareness of current contracts, ensure compliance with legislation and document control.
• Monitor and report forecast cost/value and manage cashflow.
• Oversee and develop the commercial team on your contracts.

Job DescriptionExciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our successful Major Projects division. As part of our commercial team, you'll play a key role in our major projects portfolio empowering decision-making, providing expert advice, managing all commercial activities, and overseeing the change control process. This is a permanent, full time position based at our Head Office in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor role will include:

• Performing risk, value management and cost control activities to benefit the contract
• Leading and driving the procurement strategy including cost value analysis and procurement of sub-contractors
• Maintaining awareness of different contracts in current use, ensuring all current legislations and document control is adhered to
• Monitoring and reporting forecast against cost and value and the management of cashflow
• Overseeing and managing the commercial team on your contracts and supporting their development

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor with previous experience working in the construction, civil engineering or highways industry. You will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent and you will have excellent knowledge of JCT, ICE and NEC contracts. A CSCS card is essential for this role.
