Job summary

Fortiva in London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the contractual and financial elements of a major project, including significant electrical and civil works. You will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and oversee P&L, cash flow and working capital management.

Your duties include contract administration, cash flow forecasting, and chairing monthly reviews with clients and the project team. A strong NEC3/4 background and civil engineering experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
• Strong understanding of NEC3/4 contracts and practical application.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or HNC with relevant experience).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
• Experience in civil engineering and construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT, and bespoke agreements.
• Measure and value works for applications, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage CVRs.
• Chair monthly project reviews and attend client progress meetings.
• Manage invoicing, debt recovery, and dispute resolution.
• Ensure contracts across the supply chain are fit for purpose.
• Oversee supply chain management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the development of the wider commercial team.
