Job summary

FM Conway is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Major Projects division on a permanent, full-time basis at our Sevenoaks Head Office in Kent. You will drive risk, value management, and cost control across major projects, lead procurement strategies, and oversee the commercial team while ensuring contract compliance and documentation control.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, possess strong knowledge of JCT, ICE and NEC contracts,

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Experience in construction, civil engineering or highways.
• Excellent knowledge of JCT, ICE and NEC contracts.
• CSCS card is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform risk, value management and cost control activities for the contract.
• Lead procurement strategy including cost value analysis and procurement of sub-contractors.
• Maintain awareness of different contracts in current use and ensure contract documentation control.
• Monitor and report forecast against cost and value and manage cashflow.
• Oversee and manage the commercial team on relevant contracts.

Job description

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our successful Major Projects division. As part of our commercial team, you'll play a key role in our major projects portfolio empowering decision-making, providing expert advice, managing all commercial activities, and overseeing the change control process. This is a permanent, full time position based at our Head Office in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor role will include:

• Performing risk, value management and cost control activities to benefit the contract
• Leading and driving the procurement strategy including cost value analysis and procurement of sub-contractors
• Maintaining awareness of different contracts in current use, ensuring all current legislations and document control is adhered to
• Monitoring and reporting forecast against cost and value and the management of cashflow
• Overseeing and managing the commercial team on your contracts and supporting their development

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor with previous experience working in the construction, civil engineering or highways industry. You will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent and you will have excellent knowledge of JCT, ICE and NEC contracts. A CSCS card is essential for this role.
