Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Water Framework team in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The role offers 45 hours per week with some flexibility and hybrid working arrangements.

You will contribute to the commercial management of the Water Framework project during construction, while supporting and developing junior colleagues. Key responsibilities include procurement, valuations, cost reports with trend analysis, and contractual guidance.

Qualifications

• Construction-related degree required.
• Full driving licence required.
• Experience in a commercial role for a contractor.
• Experience with a variety of contract forms.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with procurement strategies, including managing subcontract inquiries and tender reviews.
• Manage valuations, project cashflows, and prepare monthly cost reports with trend analysis.
• Provide legal and contractual advice on orders, changes, and subcontractor administration.
• Drive commercial initiatives and produce margin improvement plans to maximise opportunities.
• Lead and mentor junior staff to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
