Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leeds to lead the commercial side of civil engineering projects. The role involves ownership of project performance and close collaboration with operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.

You will manage costs, forecasts, variances and contractual matters, mentoring junior team members and building strong client relationships within a growing portfolio of civil works.

Responsibilities

• Take full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance.
• Lead monthly commercial reviews and CVRs.
• Forecast final project costs, revenue and margins.
• Manage variations, change control and contractual matters.
• Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Review and prepare contractual correspondence.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to project and operational teams.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate contractual and commercial records.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Support tender and pre-construction activity as required.
• Manage, mentor and support members of the commercial team.

A well-established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading role within its commercial team.

This is an opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects, managing commercial performance and working closely with operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.

The successful individual will take responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering projects while also supporting and developing members of the wider commercial team.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have responsibility for the commercial and financial management of multiple projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering projects
• Managing project costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance
• Leading monthly commercial reviews and CVRs
• Forecasting final project costs, revenue and margins

About You

To be considered, you will have a strong background as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step into a more senior role.

You will ideally have:
