Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team near Chichester, with hybrid working and a salary range of £65,000–£80,000 plus a car allowance.

The role focuses on taking commercial ownership of projects, leading negotiations, and contributing to strategic commercial delivery. Projects range from £250k to £8m, with exposure to defence, government and critical infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT beneficial)
• Experience delivering project commercial management, cost control, CVRs and final accounts
• Experience leading subcontract procurement, valuations and negotiations
• Excellent numerical, analytical, communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and reporting systems
• UK work eligibility and driving licence beneficial

Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for allocated projects from pre-contract through final account
• Lead commercial management, cost control and financial reporting across complex projects
• Develop budgets, cost forecasts and final account projections
• Administer NEC contracts and manage variations and risk
• Lead subcontract procurement, commercial negotiations and supplier accounts
• Prepare and negotiate applications for payment, valuations and final accounts
• Monitor cash flow and commercial performance, identify risks and opportunities
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and stakeholders
• Build strong client, consultant, and supply chain relationships
• Mentor junior commercial staff and contribute to improvement across delivery
