Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment represents a specialist contractor near Chichester seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the growing commercial team. Hybrid working 2–3 days in the Chichester office, with UK-wide and occasional international project exposure.

Role involves commercial leadership, mentoring juniors and negotiating with clients/subcontractors on projects typically £250k–£8m within secure defence and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or Senior Quantity Surveying role in construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT knowledge beneficial).
• Experience with Main Contractor or QS Consultancy.
• Experience managing cost reporting, valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts.
• Senior applicants should lead commercial delivery and mentor juniors.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willing to undergo DV Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage full commercial lifecycle from tender to final account.
• Deliver multiple UK projects with optional international involvement.
• Administer NEC contracts, including CVRs and change management.
• Prepare Applications for Payment, forecasts and cost reports.
• Procure and commercially manage subcontractor packages.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout delivery.
• Senior QS to mentor junior staff and manage key client relationships.
• Collaborate with Commercial Manager and project teams.
