Job summary

Balfour Beatty VINCI is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team on the HS2 project in Birmingham, West Midlands. The role is based on site and requires strong ownership of commercial processes and a proactive approach to contract management.

You will work closely with delivery teams, prepare subcontract invitations, evaluate tenders, and support development of commercial strategies to protect the project’s position.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Experience on large infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
• Professional membership (RICS/ICES/CIOB) preferred.
• Right to work in the UK must be current.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead tasks and processes, taking ownership and accountability within broad parameters.
• Liaise with Project Manager or Commercial Manager on relevant commercial aspects.
• Protect BBV’s commercial position using contract, commercial, insurance and legal knowledge.
• Manage client relationships to enable smooth progression of the contract.

Education

BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent

Experience working on a large infrastructure project

Experience on a civil engineering project

Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB
