Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and cost management from feasibility to final account across a national portfolio. The role supports insourcing and in-house development within our RM Engineering teams, with a flexible base location and hybrid working.

You will shape commercial strategy, manage budgets and procurement decisions, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive value and ensure governance and compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• MRICS accreditation or working towards MRICS.
• CSCS card or equivalent H&S accreditation.
• IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial planning, governance and reporting across projects with strong cost control.
• Prepare cost plans, estimates, tender docs, bills of quantities and commercial evaluations.
• Manage valuations, contractor applications, forecasting, cashflow and final accounts.
• Drive value engineering and cost saving initiatives, support insourcing where appropriate.
• Provide clear commercial reporting covering cost to complete, forecast outturns and risks.
• Ensure governance with procurement policies and CDM 2015 compliance.
• Manage commercial and contractual risks with robust assessments and risk registers.
• Build relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to drive performance.
