OCU Group in East London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major electrical infrastructure projects, including 132kV cable installations and substations. You will oversee commercial delivery from pre-construction through final account, with a programme running to 2028 and occasional site presence at the Stafford site.

The role requires NEC contract experience, cost control, and leadership of a small team of surveyors.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quantity Surveying or commercial management in electrical infrastructure or power transmission.
• Experience with cost control, forecasting, payment applications, variations and final accounts.
• Strong NEC contracts knowledge and managing notices and claims.
• Experience with subcontractors, procurement and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with clear reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Manage the commercial administration and financial performance of multiple projects, from pre-construction to final account.
• Support tendering, ECI and feasibility activities with commercial input.
• Ensure timely submission of notices, applications for payment, variations and compensation events.
• Negotiate and manage variations, compensation events and claims with substantiation.
• Manage subcontract procurement, tendering, negotiations, contract administration and final accounts.
• Prepare cost forecasts, cash flow projections, budgets and cost‑to‑complete reports.
• Monitor project costs, revenue, WIP, liabilities, contingency and margins.
• Maintain project records and ensure payment processes are managed.
• Work with project managers to monitor programme, procurement, design and delivery.
• Lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
