Job summary

Ivy Resource Group are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent role based in Malvern. You will support delivery of a diverse portfolio including schools, hospitals, colleges, universities and leisure centres.

The ideal candidate will have proven senior QS experience in a main contractor environment, strong commercial management skills, and experience with JCT/NEC contracts. Degree in QS and MRICS desirable; full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial management across the full project lifecycle, from tender through to final account.
• Extensive experience administering JCT and NEC forms of contract.
• Excellent cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting skills.
• Strong understanding of procurement strategies and subcontract package management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining commercial control and profitability.
• Excellent negotiation skills with experience resolving variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and COINS/Causeway or similar software.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management; MRICS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managed the commercial and contractual delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Prepared, reviewed, and negotiated subcontract packages ensuring best value and compliance.
• Administered NEC and JCT contracts, managing obligations, change control, and risk.
• Produced cost plans, budgets, forecasts and CVRs.
• Monitored costs, cash flow and profitability, implementing mitigation for margins.
• Assessed and valued subcontractor applications, variations and final accounts.
• Led procurement, tender analysis, subcontractor selection and contract awards.
• Collaborated with project managers and site teams to control costs and delivery.
