Gleeson Homes is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across designated developments, overseeing expenditure in line with budgets and programmes. You will report to the Commercial Director and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver profitable, well-managed projects.

The ideal candidate has extensive QS experience in high-volume housebuilding, strong contractual knowledge, and the ability to drive cost efficiency within group policies and processes.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and experience within the Quantity Surveying field in a high volume housebuilding company.
• A good understanding of surveying and contractual procedures.
• Understanding of the financial implications of the methods and sequences of build.
• In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and commercial controls.

Responsabilités

• Take a whole-company perspective on performance of Building Homes, influencing objectives and profitability.
• Actively manage build and infrastructure costs, cash flows, cost movements and variations at site and plot level.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, reporting development/build expenditure and adding value.
• Review and agree monthly site valuations and cost assessments using the approved system.
• Manage partnerships with Housing Associations, contractors and subcontractors to meet contractual terms.
• Procure subcontract trades in line with policy and ensure prequalification criteria are met.
• Provide detailed cost/budget analysis and guidance to site management to mitigate overruns.
• Collaborate to determine site start programmes and timescales.
• Host regular meetings with subcontractors to review performance.
• Produce KPI reports and updates for the Commercial Director.
• Manage performance indicators and reporting within the commercial function.
