Job summary

A leading tier 1 main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team across Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The role involves managing defence sector projects valued from £2m to £10m with a pipeline of larger work.

You will lead end-to-end procurement, drive value through budget control, and maintain robust contract administration on site and in office settings. Experience on defence projects is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Experience procuring subcontractors.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement and tender reconciliation.
• Manage project budgets through design phase.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Quantify and manage commercial risks in defence and sensitive environments.
• Coordinate with design team to manage subcontractor fees and liabilities.
• Oversee day-to-day commercial management and contract administration.
