Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Defence sector team in the UK. You will administer NEC4 contracts, manage variations and cost reporting, and support funded programmes across defence infrastructure, equipment and nuclear environments.

Working in a hybrid model with competitive benefits, you will collaborate with MOD and DIO stakeholders, ensuring governance, value for money, and secure delivery on high‑value projects in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Essential NEC4 contract experience and cost-control capability.
• Experience with defence infrastructure projects in regulated environments.
• MRICS status or working towards MRICS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer NEC4 contracts in defence projects and governance requirements.
• Manage variations, change control and compensation events.
• Maintain cost control, forecasting, and reporting across defence programmes.
• Support delivery of infrastructure and equipment projects within secure environments.
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams to ensure value for money and on-time delivery.
