Industry- Leading Main Contractor in London seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial and financial aspects of major industrial and steel frame projects, reporting to the Commercial Manager.

The role focuses on budgets, forecasts, contracts, and cost control, with a salary of £75,000-£90,000 plus benefits, and opportunities for career progression within a dynamic, high-profile project environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an SQS in the construction industry, particularly with industrial and steel frame projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor a commercial team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial activities related to large-scale industrial and steel frame projects.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to ensure profitability.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, including subcontractor agreements and client variations.
• Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate cost control.
• Lead the commercial team, providing guidance and support to junior members.
• Resolve commercial disputes and manage claims effectively.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and senior management to align commercial goals.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and contractual obligations.
