Kenton Black Limited is seeking an experienced freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor in Watford to lead commercial performance on civil engineering projects. You will support delivery teams with cost control, CVRs, forecasts and contract management, while actively managing risk and driving opportunities.

The role requires strong NEC/IChemE knowledge, subcontract procurement expertise and the ability to mentor junior commercial staff within a structured environment.

Qualifikationen

• Senior Quantity Surveying or commercial management experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts.
• Experience with monthly forecasting, cost analysis, CVRs and cash management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and cost reporting software.
• Excellent organisation and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• RICS membership or progress towards membership is desirable.

Aufgaben

• Provide accurate cost and value reporting at project and business-unit level.
• Produce monthly CVRs, cost plans, forecasts and cash flow reporting.
• Prepare upstream applications for payment and manage through final account.
• Manage main and subcontract agreements, focusing on NEC/IChemE forms.
• Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation and post-contract management.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks while pursuing opportunities.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and finance.
• Provide practical commercial advice to operational teams and mentor junior staff.
