Job summary

Calibre Search is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a large SME Construction Group with offices across the UK, working on Civil Engineering schemes up to 7 million. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, you will manage a portfolio of projects and provide commercial guidance to the site team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will prepare cost plans, CVRs, tenders and final accounts, and help optimise procurement strategies while identifying commercial risks and ensuring value for

Qualifications

• Management of a portfolio of projects
• Compile programme-based cost to complete / project budgets
• Advising on procurement strategy
• Preparing subcontract documents, including bills of quantities
• Flag areas of Commercial Risk to Commercial Manager
• Sub-Contractor Procurement
• Prepare Costs for Tenders
• Undertaking CVR's
• Performing risk and value management and cost control
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risk
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
• Price up variations and obtain agreement with clients
• Agree Final Accounts
• Provide commercial advice to the site team as and when required
• Preparing and analysing costings for tenders
• Assist senior management with the preparation of contractual claims
