Job summary

Advance TRS in Suffolk is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on building and civil engineering projects. You will manage project costs, oversee subcontractors, and ensure commercial success across the project lifecycle.

You will mentor junior commercial staff and collaborate with project teams to identify risks and opportunities, while reviewing tenders, rates and procurement packages to support profitable delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• RICS, ICES or CIOB qualified, or working towards membership.
• Experience in building and/or civil engineering projects.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs from tender through to final account.
• Oversee subcontractor payments, variations and compensation events.
• Review tenders, rates and procurement packages.
• Prepare and negotiate commercial claims.
• Monitor project progress, costs and commercial risks.
• Produce cost reports, forecasts and financial reconciliations.
• Work closely with project teams to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support and mentor junior commercial staff.
