Job description

Location: Rickmansworth, Hampton or Walthamstow with hybrid working available

Rate: £59k – 70k (Neg DOE), car allowance and excellent benefits package

Our Client: Is an integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector. They have over 1,000 staff working across eight regional centres, primarily supporting six long term water sector frameworks operating both on their own and increasingly in joint ventures and alliances.

The Role

You will report directly to the Managing QS and will be responsible for the commercial management of projects.

Responsibilities

1. Quantity surveying duties related to managing projects and work packages.
2. Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyze, and control costs.
3. Collaborate with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
4. Manage the main contract, ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
5. Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
6. Assist in managing and evaluating subcontractor performance.
7. Manage the preparation and agreement of payment applications.
8. Prepare project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
9. Assist in developing junior commercial staff.
10. Maintain professional development through external networking and industry engagement.
11. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented work approach, providing honest feedback.

Experience and Qualifications

• Comprehensive commercial experience, preferably with a contracting organization.
• Experience on infrastructure projects.
• BSc or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related construction field.
• Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognized institution.
• Experience with standard contract forms such as NEC and IChemE.
• Experience in claim management.
