DAS Fire Limited - Fire Detection and Suppression
Be a proactive member of the Commercial Team; lead and assist in contract administrative duties as necessary. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, lead the Commercial team to ensure accurate records are constantly updated; key commercial and contract tasks are conducted in a timely fashion. Part of a small team responsible for identifying, recording, and managing contractual risk and opportunity across the business portfolio to support the profitable growth of the business in sustainable revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor, and oversee the commercial function.
- Provide mentorship and advice to operational colleagues.
- Prepare and analyze project margin forecasts, revenue forecasts, and cost-to-complete assessments.
- Manage risk, value management, and cost control during the project lifecycle.
- Identify, analyze, and respond to commercial risks.
- Maintain awareness of current building contracts, track key dates and clauses, and promote best practices.
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
- Record and maintain records related to risk, opportunity, and contract documents such as Contracts, NDAs, and Change Management.
- Manage the application for payment process and resolve client queries.
- Liaise with the finance team to ensure timely invoicing and payments.
- Strive for operational excellence and continual performance improvement through proactive management.
- Manage subcontractor relationships, including creation, payments, change management, and risk analysis.
- Assist with commercial policies and establish parameters for measuring project performance.
- Monitor and report on the project program, issuing notices as required.
- Promote best commercial practices throughout the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and conduct regular site commercial meetings.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience with contract administration, knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, and cost control.
- Good communication, negotiation, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; ability to read programs like Asta.
- Experience in managing subordinates is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge of the Construction Act and awareness of changes in construction law.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Quantity Surveying degree or HNC/HND qualification.
- Experience with Data Centres or M&E is advantageous.
- Full driving license.
