Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Rail team in Oxford. The role is based at Oxford Station with 45 hours per week and some flexibility.

Suitable for candidates with strong experience in supervising subcontractor accounts and valuations and a focus on cost control and profitability. You will lead commercial activities on allocated projects, build strong relationships with clients and suppliers, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to high standards.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Rail team based in Oxford.

Location: Oxford Station, Oxford
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Oxford Station team, supporting them in taking responsibility for the Quantity Surveying function on allocated projects, maximisingquality of service and profitability. This is an excellent opportunity to lead commercial activities whilst developing strong relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Your day to day will include:

• Managing all aspects of subcontractor accounts and procurement to secure maximum sustainable value
• Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and monthly applications for payment to clients
• Leading cost control activities, ensuring profitability is delivered and working closely with site teams
• Compiling and agreeing variations, managing the project risk register, and identifying opportunities
• Supporting and developing junior surveyors whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
