Qualifications

Job description

SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location - EAST MIDLANDS

What you will be doing:

You will work on our Infrastructure project and frameworks. Ideally, you will be based locally, although we are open to subsidizing relocation.

  • Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
  • Produce subcontract documentation including negotiation of terms, prices, and programme.
  • Manage subcontract work packages, including interim assessments of the amount due and change management.
  • Produce and issue all commercial notices to the client and subcontractors as required by the contract.
  • Manage change in a timely manner, including producing and submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Produce, submit, and agree on monthly applications to the client.
  • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records meet standards.
  • Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
  • Maintain a detailed ‘Cost Plan’, tracking expenditure and subcontractor liabilities using Oracle-based cost analyses.
  • Interpret expenditure reports from internal cost systems.
  • Attend weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with the client and subcontractors.
  • Apply ‘Doing the right thing’ principles to maximize value and profit.
  • Assist estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
  • Be a key on-site member of the commercial team.

About You:

  • Good appreciation of standard forms of contract.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, CEMAR, Oracle.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of construction processes.
  • Experience with NEC/Option C contracts.
  • Excellent time and outcome management skills.
  • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, working towards full membership (desirable).
  • Experience in Civil Engineering Environment (Highways/Rail/Water/Aviation), working with clients like Highways England or Local Authorities.
  • Exposure to large schemes or multiple smaller schemes.
  • CSCS card as appropriate.
