Job summary

Cumming Group in Manchester is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to manage costs on high-profile projects and work directly with clients. This hands-on role offers exposure across feasibility through to completion with guidance from senior team members.

We seek a commercially aware professional with 2–5 years' cost-management experience, MRICS preferred, and strong communication to drive successful project outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• MRICS (or working towards) preferred.
• 2–5 years' cost management or consultancy experience.
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC a benefit).
• Exposure to pre- and post-contract stages.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you'll support and take ownership of projects from early feasibility through to completion, with the guidance of senior team members.

You’ll be trusted to:

• Take ownership of cost management tasks on your projects
• Support clients and contribute to key decisions

• Prepare and deliver cost plans, budgets, and reporting
• Manage valuations, forecasts, and financial performance
• Assist with contract administration (JCT / NEC)

What You Bring We're looking for someone who is:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or similar
