Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on water industry projects in Kent. You will manage contracts from award to final account, produce valuations, variations and cost forecasts, and maintain client and supply chain relationships.

The role requires a strong NEC contracts background, commercial acumen and cost management skills, with experience in infrastructure or utilities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction/utilities/infrastructure/engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• Good commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Water industry experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account.
• Prepare and agree valuations, variations, and measurements.
• Procure and manage subcontract packages, including tender enquiries and negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and commercial performance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, and change control.
• Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams.
• Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and commercial procedures.
• Mentor and support Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.
