Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment (UK) Limited seeks a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a large £100m project on a permanent basis in Suffolk. You will manage a team, produce CVRs, and handle payments, variations and final accounts while reporting to directors.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years at Senior/Managing QS level, strong communication, and experience on big build schemes (£50m+). Sector experience in Commercial/Industrial/Defence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience at a Senior or Managing QS level leading new build projects £50m+.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a project team.
• Experience on 2-stage projects is advantageous.
• Sector experience includes Commercial, Industrial, or Defence.

Responsibilities

A successful Tier 1 Main Contractor with stable pipeline of secured projects across Suffolk have a new and exciting opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their business and lead a a key project valued at over £100m.

The company are looking for a candidate that has experience managing others and is looking to make a decisive step in their career.

They will consider experienced Senior QS candidates who have led projects over £50m looking for a step up or proven Managing QS candidates.

Previous experience leading projects over £50m in single value is essential for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take responsibility for working across all commercial management functions on a large project overseeing a team of Quantity Surveyors.

Key duties include: producing CVRs, managing team workload to include applications for payment from sub-contractors, variations and preparation of final accounts. You will be reporting at a senior level to directors and help build the team and overall growth of the region.

Desirable Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience at a Senior or Managing QS level leading new build projects c£50m+.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working on 2-stage projects would be advantageous.
• Sector experience to include atleast one of the following - Commercial, Industrial or Defence.
• Previous Roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Managing QS OR Commercial Manager OR Lead Quantity Surveyor OR Principal Quantity Surveyor or Project Surveyor.
