Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Ipswich team. You will lead cost management across multiple projects within a supportive consultancy environment, fostering client relationships and ensuring value for money.

Based in Ipswich with hybrid and flexible working, you will manage client engagements, mentor junior staff, and drive project success from inception to completion. MRICS would be advantageous.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Ipswich

I'm currently working with an established and highly regarded construction consultancy that is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Ipswich.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who is looking to join a progressive consultancy where they can take ownership of projects, develop client relationships and play an important role within a growing team.

The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved across a range of projects, providing high-quality cost management and quantity surveying services from inception through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing full quantity surveying and cost management services across a variety of projects.
• Managing project costs, budgets and financial reporting.
• Preparing cost plans, estimates and tender documentation.
• Undertaking tender analysis and procurement advice.
• Managing valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Advising clients on commercial and contractual matters.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Supporting junior members of the team and contributing to their professional development.
• Taking responsibility for delivering projects to a high standard, on time and within budget.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is confident working within a consultancy environment and is comfortable managing projects and client relationships.

Ideally, you will have:

• Significant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy.
• Strong commercial and cost management experience.
• Experience managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• A relevant Quantity Surveying / Construction-related degree.
• MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
