Job summary

Monroe International, based in Hampton, UK, seeks an experienced commercial lead to take end-to-end financial ownership of major capital projects in the infrastructure sector.

The role covers commercial management, contract administration, and subcontracts, with collaboration across engineering, site operations, client representatives, and supply chain partners. MRICS/RICS chartership preferred; hybrid work model with 3 days on-site.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing major packages or projects valued > £5M.
• Extensive experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA.
• Experience supervising and developing line reports.
• MRICS/RICS chartership or working towards accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complete quantity surveying functions, including budget compilation, cost-to-complete forecasting, and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs).
• Manage main contract obligations, ensuring early warnings, compensation events, and formal contractual correspondence are submitted accurately and within set timeframes.
• Draft, issue, and manage subcontract agreements. Evaluate subcontractor performance, monitor progress, and manage payment applications and variations.
• Partner with engineering, site operations, client representatives, and supply chain partners to control expenditures and drive value engineering.
• Prepare regular financial updates, cash flow projections, and commercial risk reports for leadership.
• Mentor, guide, and support the professional growth of junior commercial staff.
• Maintain high professional standards, confidentiality, and CPD participation.

Location: Hampton / Southern Region (Hybrid: 3 days on-site/office)

Salary - £65000 - £75000 + Car Allowance

Primary Focus:

Taking full end-to-end commercial ownership and financial management for major capital projects within the infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Proven track record managing major packages or projects valued in excess of £5M.
• Extensive experience within utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA frameworks.
• Solid working knowledge of NEC3 or IChemE contract suites.
• Experience supervising and developing line reports.
• MRICS/RICS chartership or working towards professional accreditation.
