Job description

We do it with passion, sensitivity, and style! This role is for the Commercial Lead of the project. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide high-level contractual and commercial advice and support to their respective Project Surveyor(s) and commercial teams.

The project involves a Grade 1 & 2 listed building being transformed into high-end residential apartments, comprising 42 units across 3 blocks. The project is valued at £92m, featuring an extended roof turned into a penthouse, along with a gym, spa, and underground swimming facilities.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Accept responsibility for a large project or multiple projects, overseeing financial and commercial targets while ensuring best practices are employed to meet project objectives, including budget control, profit maximization, and positive cash flow.
2. Ensure the Project Surveyor and commercial team understand procurement processes and targets for securing sub-contractors, suppliers, and design consultants, including producing formal documentation for accurate financial and contractual representations.
3. Place robust orders before work begins, in accordance with current contractual arrangements.
4. Provide reliable advice on financial, progress, and contractual matters to Construction Directors, Project Managers, and Directors of the company when appropriate.
5. Prepare and present accurate internal cost and value reports timely.
6. Manage interim and final payment applications, retentions, and final accounts promptly.
7. Administer sub-contractors and suppliers in line with company agreements.
8. Notify relevant stakeholders of any commercial disputes with employers, sub-contractors, or suppliers.

Qualifications and Skills:

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Chartered member of RICS
• Negotiation training
• Presentation skills
• CVR training
• Practical knowledge of ASTA PowerProjects or MS Projects 2013/2016
