Job summary

FB Resourcing is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a London main contractor handling £7m–£30m refurbishments and high‑spec fit‑outs in Zones 1–2. You’ll own the commercial scope, lead procurement, run CVRs, and help win new work through client pitches.

This role suits an established Senior QS ready to step up, with London project experience and a drive to mentor others. Salary £75,000–£100,000+ depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior QS or with a track record and ambition to step up.
• Experience on cut and carve refurbishment or high-spec fit-out in London.
• Confident leading procurement and running CVRs independently.
• Comfortable presenting and leading in client and pitch meetings.
• Mentoring and developing others is a plus.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related subject; RICS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement across £7m–£30m projects from tender to subcontract award.
• Run CVRs, manage cost, cash flow and forecasting with minimal supervision.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Attend and lead pitch meetings with clients and project teams.
• Coach and develop assistant and junior QSs.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams and the Commercial Lead.

About our client

Our client is a well-established London main contractor with over 20 years of trading and a strong, secured pipeline of work. They specialise in cut and carve refurbishments, delivering a mix of high-spec residential and Commercial Office fit-out projects valued between £7m and £30m, all within Zones 1 and 2.

The role

They’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full ownership of the commercial side of their projects. You’ll lead procurement, run your own CVRs with minimal input from the Commercial Lead, and take an active part in winning new work through pitch meetings. You’ll also help develop the next generation of QSs.

This would suit an established Senior QS, or a QS who is ready to step up and has the experience to back it.

Key responsibilities

• Leading procurement across £7m–£30m projects, from tender through to subcontract award
• Running your own CVRs, managing cost, cash flow and forecasting with minimal supervision
• Managing subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations and final accounts
• Attending and leading pitch meetings with clients and project teams
• Managing, coaching and developing assistant and junior QSs
• Working closely with project managers, site teams and the Commercial Lead

About you

• Proven experience as a Senior QS, or a QS with the track record and ambition to step up
• Experience on cut and carve, refurbishment or high-spec fit-out in London, in residential or commercial office
• Confident leading procurement and running CVRs independently
• Comfortable presenting and leading in client and pitch meetings
• A genuine interest in mentoring and developing others
