Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. in Buxton seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own the commercial management of engineering and industrial projects.

You will lead NEC4 contract administration, change control, CVR reporting and cost forecasting within a diverse portfolio including food, beverage, manufacturing and industrial sectors. The role requires strong NEC4 and contractual knowledge, with experience in planning coordination and subcontract management.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Engineering / Commercial Projects

Location: Buxton
Rate: £450-500 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract: Initial contract with potential for ongoing work

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the commercial side of major engineering projects, working closely with the Project Manager and Planner across delivery, change and commercial close-out.

The role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for the commercial management of engineering and industrial projects, with a particular focus on NEC4, change management and project controls.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing NEC4 contracts and ensuring contractual processes are followed
• Managing change control, variations and Compensation Events
• Cost control, forecasting and CVR reporting
• Managing extensions of time and delay mechanisms
• Managing subcontractor and supplier agreements
• Reviewing project scope and ensuring changes are recorded and valued correctly
• Maintaining robust commercial records throughout the project
• Working closely with the Planner to understand programme impact and associated commercial implications

About you

You’ll have a strong Quantity Surveying or commercial background, ideally gained within engineering, M&E, manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, utilities or process environments.

Mechanical installation or engineering project experience would be particularly valuable, alongside strong NEC4 and contractual knowledge.

You’ll ideally have experience with:

• NEC4
• Compensation Events
• Change control and variations
• CVR and forecasting
• Extensions of time and delay
• Subcontract management
• Mechanical / M&E projects
• Working closely with Planning teams

Experience within food & beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical or automated production environments would also be beneficial.

Mileage is paid at 45p per mile.
