Job summary

AE Partners is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage contractual and financial elements on a major project near Bridgewater. You will report to the Senior Commercial Manager and contribute to P&L, cash flow and working capital management across electrical and civil works.

You will lead the commercial team, manage multiple NEC3/4 contracts and prepare cash flow forecasts, with opportunities on other projects in the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
• Strong commercial performance management.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts and practical application.
• Civil engineering and construction experience desirable.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or HNC with relevant experience).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Manage contractual and financial elements of a major project near Bridgewater.
• Support successful P&L, cash flow and working capital management.
• Provide leadership within the commercial team and project teams.
• Measure and value works for applications, variations and final accounts.
• Identify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage CVRs.
• Chair monthly project reviews and client progress meetings.
• Manage invoicing, debt recovery and dispute resolution.
• Support development of the wider commercial team.

Our Major Projects & Connections team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the contractual and financial elements of a major project near Bridgewater, with future opportunities on other projects. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you'll support successful P&L, cash flow, and working capital management across large electrical and civil works.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

• Ensure compliance with client health and safety standards.
• Provide leadership within the commercial team and wider project teams.
• Manage multiple contracts under NEC3/4, JCT, and bespoke agreements.
• Measurement and valuation of works for applications, variations, and final accounts.
• Identify and notify Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage CVRs.
• Chair monthly project reviews and attend client progress meetings.
• Manage invoicing, debt recovery, and dispute resolution.
• Supply chain management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support development of the wider commercial team.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
• Strong commercial performance management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts and practical application.
• Civil engineering and construction experience (desirable).
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or HNC with relevant experience).
• Advanced MS Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables).
