A leading engineering firm is looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage tender submissions, budgets, and pricing for projects in Glasgow. The role involves extensive project documentation, cost comparisons, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure project financial success. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail in cost management and budgeting.
- Taking off quantities, sourcing sub-contractors & suppliers, pricing, and preparing tender submissions for various projects, especially R&R, A&A, and Paints projects.
- Checking tender documents for completeness, updating tender amendments and corrigenda, and managing pre-tender to post-contract QS services, including contract documentation.
- Preparing necessary documentation from shortlisting to awarding contracts, including evaluation, comparison, and recommendation.
- Preparing budgets and monitoring costs to ensure project expenses stay within the allocated budget.
- Analyzing cost comparisons.
- Measuring quantities and taking-offs.
- Preparing Variation Orders, claims, final accounts, settlements, and payments.
- Preparing monthly progress reports.
- Negotiating on pricing.
- Preparing project budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Liaising with consultants and clients for monthly progress claims and monitoring against cash flow projections.
- Checking for discrepancies and raising tender queries.
- Performing measurements and preparing Bills of Quantities.
- Compiling tender submissions, including calling quotations, pricing, preparing PQMs, and post-tender questionnaires.
- Calling subcontract quotations, preparing cost comparisons, reports, negotiating, recommending awards, and preparing subcontract agreements.
- Evaluating subcontractor claims and certifying payments.
- Tracking and submitting variation orders, liaising with consultants for assessments.
- Negotiating with consultants and clients for finalization of accounts.
- Ensuring timely and justifiable certification of payments from clients.
- Tracking progress claim status and accounts receivable.
- Performing any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Contract Manager and management.
