Job summary

M Group Water Scotland is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to administer NEC contracts, raise early warnings, price compensation events and manage subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure robust CVRs and P&L reporting and oversee subcontract orders, quotations and final accounts.

You will check timesheets, staff allocations and contribute to financial governance. Senior QS experience in civil engineering or utilities will help you thrive with us.

This role will be within our Water Division, working on one of our current three frameworks with Scottish Water.

• SR21 DV1 : Capital works water and wastewater framework, delivered by the Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA) Joint Venture. Primarily infrastructure and civil engineering project improving network resilient and protecting the environment.
• SR21 DV2 : Predominantly MEICA based capital maintenance framework on existing water and wastewater assets. Upgrade, refurbishment and high value capital maintenance projects
• SR27 DV4 : The integrated design and construction of civil and infrastructure projects within SW 12 years enterprise arrangement. Project and progharmeme opportunities across the full capital investment programme.

What will you be doing?

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll be instrumental in administering NEC contracts, raising early warning notices, identifying and pricing compensation events, and managing subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle. Your attention to detail will support accurate CVRs and P&L reports, as well as management of subcontract orders, quotations and final accounts.

You’ll check timesheets, staff allocations and ensure robust financial governance. Senior QS experience in civil engineering or utilities will help you thrive with us.

What you’ll bring

• Are you confident assessing subcontractor applications and preparing payment applications?
• Do you actively mentor junior team members, supporting their growth?
• Are you well-versed in NEC3 contracts and experienced with CEMAR?
• Do you have a track record in Utilities, Rail, or Highways?
• Can you manage high volume, low value work, and partner effectively in alliance environments?
