Job summary

Vantage Consulting Limited in Gateshead is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial team. You will manage the commercial aspects from initial stages through to completion and work on projects spanning £50k to £15m.

You will prepare payments, valuations and variations, oversee procurement and subcontractor management, monitor costs, and report on performance while collaborating with PMs and clients. Office-based with some flexibility to work from home.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial construction or related sector.
• Strong understanding of valuations, variations, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Experience working for a principal contractor or established construction contractor advantageous.
• MEP/building services or data-centre experience desirable but not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• Proactive, organised and take ownership of commercial responsibilities.

Salary: Up to £70,000 DOE

The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing construction and engineering contractor seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen its commercial department.
With an annual turnover of approximately £20 million, the business delivers projects ranging from £50,000 to £15 million across commercial construction, data centres, building services, plant replacements and maintenance.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team, take ownership of commercial activities and play a key role in shaping and developing the company's commercial function.

Additional Information

The position is based at the company's Team Valley office in Gateshead, with occasional travel to project sites and client meetings. Depending on project requirements, this may involve approximately 1-2 overnight stays per month.
