Job summary

Adeo, a cost consultancy with multi-disciplinary in‑house teams, invites applications for a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Croydon and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities include budgets, cash flows, sub-contract control, final accounts, valuations, and monthly cost reporting, with a focus on reclaiming value and mentoring junior staff. This role emphasizes professional conduct and client confidentiality.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor (Senior QS).
Ability to independently manage medium-sized projects (1–5 million).
Produce CVR reports showing actual performance against budget.
Maximise reclaimable value on projects.
Strong team player with ability to lead junior members and work independently.
Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Preparation of contract budgets and cash flows.
Control of sub contract accounts and measuring sub-contractors’ work.
Preparation of final accounts and cost/value reconciliations.
Attend site meetings and liaise with MQS on claims issues.
Prepare material schedules and monthly valuations.
Carry out appraisals with MQS or line manager.

Responsibilities

Preparation of contract budgets and cash flows
Control of sub contract accounts including :
Measuring of sub‑contractors work Checking sub contractor’s submissions
Preparation of final accounts
Quantification and evaluation of variations
Preparation of cost and value reconciliations
Attend site meetings
Preparation of material schedules
Preparation of monthly valuations
Liaise with MQS on claims issues
Be totally familiar with the client brief and act in accordance with that
Undertake jobs and responsibilities in a professional and business‑like manner
Honour client and Adeo business confidentialities
To manage a small team of QS’s.
To carry out appraisals with the MQS or appropriate line manager

Requirements

Have a minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor before you can be considered for a Senior QS position.
Demonstrated that you are able to manage medium sized projects independently (1 - 5 million).
Able to produce a report of actual performance (CVR’s) against budget on projects.
Able to maximise reclaimable value on a project.
Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative
Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
