Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial performance on major industrial and logistics projects across the Midlands. You will collaborate with the project team, client, consultants and supply chain to drive value and ensure robust contract administration.

The ideal candidate has proven Senior QS experience in Industrial & Logistics, a track record with Tier 1 contractors, and strong negotiation, risk management and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in I&L projects.
• Experience delivering warehouses, sheds or distribution centres.
• Experience with Tier 1 Main Contractors.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractors, variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Degree or professional qualification is desirable.

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Industrial & Logistics

Location: Midlands

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contractor: Tier 1 Main Contractor

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, working on major industrial and logistics projects across the midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior QS with experience in I&L, warehouses, sheds, distribution centres or other large-scale industrial projects to join a high-performing team delivering complex, high-value schemes.

The Role

You will take a senior role in managing the commercial and contractual performance of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with the project team, client, consultants and supply chain.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the commercial performance of major projects
• Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting
• Procurement and subcontract management
• Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations and final accounts
• Managing commercial risk and contractual obligations
• Leading commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors
• Providing commercial advice to the wider project team
• Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed commercial targets

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Strong experience within Industrial & Logistics (I&L)
• Experience delivering large warehouses, sheds, distribution centres or similar industrial schemes
• Experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, variations, valuations and final accounts
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
• A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirableCandidates without direct I&L experience will also be considered where they have a strong background delivering large-scale, complex construction projects.
