Job summary

A Senior Quantity Surveyor position at Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Chester offers responsibility for commercial delivery on multiple construction and engineering projects across the UK. You will work with project managers, clients and subcontractors to maximise profitability throughout the lifecycle.

The role covers pre-contract through final accounts, with cost forecasting, cash flow, valuations and final accounts, while ensuring NEC/JCT contract compliance and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor or step-up ready.
• Strong background in construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction and engineering projects.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontract agreements.
• Produce accurate cost forecasts, budgets and cash flow reports.
• Manage valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Monitor project costs and ensure commercial performance targets are achieved.
• Evaluate subcontractor applications and certify payments.
• Manage variations, compensation events and contractual claims.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.
• Provide commercial input throughout the project lifecycle to maximise profitability.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they're looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Chester.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for multiple construction and engineering projects from pre-contract through to final account. Working closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors and the wider commercial team, you'll ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial controls.

About You

We're looking for an experienced commercial professional who can confidently manage projects and build lasting client relationships.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor ready to step up.
• Strong background within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Proven experience managing project costs from inception through to completion.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
