Job description

CarmichaelUK are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor on a high-profile highways project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional who has previously delivered on major Tier 1 projects to take a lead role in the cost and contract management of a nationally significant scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide full commercial support and administration across the project

• Ensure compliance with contract administration protocols and internal commercial standards

• Manage and oversee subcontractor administration in line with NEC4 (various options)

• Prepare and deliver cost and value reports, earned value analysis, and cost forecasting to completion

• Lead monthly reporting on commercial performance and risks

• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure accurate commercial reporting and cost control

• Liaise with Client commercial teams, including managing cost assurance processes and negotiating agreements

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on Tier 1 major infrastructure or civils projects

• Strong understanding and experience of NEC4 contracts

• Proficient in cost management, reporting, forecasting, and subcontractor coordination

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills

• High attention to detail, with strong commercial awareness and reporting discipline

• Relevant commercial qualifications or equivalent experience
