Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a diverse project portfolio across Essex, London and the wider region.

You will take ownership from procurement through final account, working with clients, Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors on projects typically ranging from £500k to £10m, some in live/occupied environments.

Qualifications

• Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor experience.
• Main contractor background preferred.
• Experience managing £500k-£10m building projects.
• Experience across retail, healthcare, residential, education, commercial or refurbishment.
• Experience working within live/occupied buildings advantageous.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Excellent procurement, negotiation and cost-control skills.
• RICS qualification or working towards qualification desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of projects valued £500k-£10m.
• Manage projects from procurement through to final account.
• Subcontract procurement, tendering and negotiation.
• Cost control, forecasting, valuations and CVRs.
• Applications for payment, variations and commercial claims.
• Final accounts and commercial negotiations.

• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.
• Work closely with operational teams and clients.
• Mentor Assistant and Junior Quantity Surveyors.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Building team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects across Essex, London and the wider region.

Projects typically range from £500k to £10m and include retail, healthcare, residential, education, refurbishment and commercial schemes, including works within live and occupied buildings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take full ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with clients, Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors.
